NC State Wins ACCHL Championship

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - No. 3 Virginia met No. 1 NC State in the ACCHL Championship game on Sunday afternoon. Virginia was looking for another upset in the ACCHL tournament, trying to stop the undefeated NC State. It was a close game, however NC State pulled it off and won their third ACCHL Championship in school history.

NC State Captain Sam Banasiewicz was named MVP after having an impressive performance during the tournament. Banasiewicz scored a goal during the championship game.

“We’ve been working five years for this” Banasiewicz said in his post game interview. “It’s been a long five years, but it’s been the best five years of my life. This team truly makes this experience wonderful. It’s all these guys out here that makes this so fun. I have no words, I don’t know how to describe it.”

NC State looks towards their regional tournament, in an effort to continue their perfect season.
