Packers cut Tight End Martellus Bennett

November 8, 2017

Martellus Bennett has been cut by the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday due to a failure to disclose designation. Bennett has been in the NFL since 2008, racking up 427 receptions, 4520 yards and 30 touchdowns.

Bennett has been recovering from a shoulder injury which kept him from playing against the Lions on Monday, a game in which the Packers lost. The news of Bennett’s release comes days after he announced he’s “pretty sure” he’s retiring after the 2017 season.

If Bennett decides to hang up his cleats before season’s end, he has a lot to proud of. Bennett won the Super Bowl in 2016 as a member of the New England Patriots and has also been selected to the Pro Bowl once.
